Contemporary dance combines the strong but controlled legwork of Ballet, with elements of Modern Dance, focusing on the contract and release of the body, and the unpredictable changes in rhythm, speed, and direction. It also employs floor work, fall and recovery, the  improvisation characteristics of Modern Dance, as well as the four elements: Space, Time, Force, and Shape. 

An excellent class for dancers wanting to explore revolutionary unconventional movement.

Dancers ages 10 and older – instructor approval needed. Previous study & concurrent enrollment in Ballet required and Jazz highly recommended. 


A style of dance that embodies ballet technique with the freedom and musicality of jazz and contemporary. Lyrical dance is strongly associated with clearly displayed emotional moods, fast-moving choreographic strategies, emphasis on virtuosic display, and illustration of song lyrics, which is where the term “Lyrical” derives from. 

Dancers must have at least 1 year of technical Ballet training and be concurrently enrolled in a weekly technical ballet class. 


Jazz dance is as varied in style as dancers are a people! Jazz has many influences! From Broadway to street funk fusion, jazz has something for everyone! At its core, jazz combines classical ballet and modern dance technique with contemporary influences with a  strong emphasis on energy, rhythmical accuracy & style.


Tap utilizes rhythm, syncopation, and sound in addition to movement. An emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, and improvisation. Class placement is determined by skill level and students often repeat levels until they have achieved mastery.


Focuses on techniques and steps of classical ballet using proper terminology and vocabulary, and studio etiquette, while developing musicality, proper body alignment, and footwork. . Develops an aesthetic awareness of the art of classical ballet. Techniques and concepts taught in each class are age and ability appropriate. 

Hip Hop / Street Jazz Funk

The “Hip Hop” taught in studios is Street Dance and choreography inspired by the original Hip Hop culture. Our Hip Hop / Street Dance classes are designed to introduce dancers to the fundamental elements of break dance as well as choreography including those elements.


Acrobatics is the blending of dance movement, contortion, and tumbling with an emphasis towards increased flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration. In this class, students perform conditioning exercises to prepare them for increased difficulty.
