Dance Alive! Dance Studio provides the beginner through the advanced dancer the opportunity for a great dance education. We offer a professional and artistic approach to training dancers. Our goal is to provide the best possible dance instruction available for all levels.
Whether you are taking classes “just for fun” or professional purposes pursuing a career in dance, students of all ages will learn the technique necessary to become an exceptional dancer. Our greatest reward is in watching our dancers grow and helping them feel more confident about themselves as dancers and as people.
Classes are age and skill level appropriate , taught in a positive learning environment. Our “Children’s classes” are taught in a fun environment which encourages dancers to learn the art of movement through exploration and self expression using themes children can relate to. The more advanced classes are taught with a focus technique - training strong, knowledgeable, confident dancers. Building the skills to dance and the confidence for life!
Ballet: The word “Ballet” is French, but comes from the Italian word “ballare” which means “to dance” Ballet is the foundation of all dance. All ballet classes are taught using proper French ballet terminology. Dancers will learn traditional ballet technique executed according to specific gestures and flowing patterns, improving flexibility, posture, poise & grace.
Our ballet classes, like all classes, are taught at a age and skill level appropriate for each class. In the “Children’s Classes”, while learning basic ballet technique, dancers will use creative movement and props to enhance their ballet experience.
Our Technique classes are taught with traditional ballet structure. Classes at various levels move from an introduction to ballet structure through beginning barre work, adage, allegro (jumping) work, pointe work , and the development of a more advanced dance vocabulary, drawing on the classical ballet repertoire. Specific attention is paid to proper skeletal alignment and muscle development to ensure correct dance technique and good health.
Jazz: Jazz dance is based on ballet technique, but allows more expression and freedom of movement. A high energy, contemporary class using isolations, stretching and conditioning followed by across the floor progressions focusing on jazz technique including turns, transition steps and leaps. A technique combination will conclude each exciting class.
